Report of Marriage
If one or both spouses held Korean nationality when marrying in the U.S., there is an obligation to report the marriage to the Republic of Korea. This must be done before reporting the birth of a child.
Report of Birth
If one or both parents held Korean nationality when the child was born in the U.S., there is an obligation to report the birth to the Republic of Korea. This must be done before renouncing nationality.
Report of Death
If a person held Korean nationality when dying in the U.S., there is an obligation to report the death to the Republic of Korea. This report must be completed for various future tasks related to finance, inheritance, etc.
Report of Divorce by Judgment
If one or both spouses held Korean nationality when divorcing in the U.S., there is an obligation to report the divorce to the Republic of Korea. This report must be completed for future family register updates and various administrative procedures.
