To handle all Korean-related matters concerning nationality and family registration, a Family Relations Certificate (formerly a Family Register Transcript) is required. This certificate is mandatory for anyone born in Korea, regardless of their current nationality.

Submission to U.S. Immigration: Translation and Notarization of Family Relations Certificate

When applying for citizenship or permanent residency, a Family Relations Certificate, Basic Certificate, and Marriage Relations Certificate are required. These documents must be translated into English and submitted as notarized copies.
