F-4 visa/Resident card
F-4 Visa
This visa is available to former Korean nationals who have acquired U.S. citizenship and consequently reported the loss of their Korean nationality. It is required for those who wish to stay in Korea for more than 90 days or need a residence card.
Residence Card
This is an identification card for overseas Koreans, serving as a substitute for a resident registration card or alien registration card. It is used for various purposes such as opening bank accounts, joining local health insurance, and reissuing driver's licenses. U.S. citizens who have reported their residency gain the same rights as Korean nationals in real estate and financial transactions under the Overseas Koreans Act, with certain exceptions.
